Orthodontic treatments, indicated to prevent and correct anomalies in the shape, position or use of dental pieces, respond to different typologies depending on the type of force and technique used. In fixed orthodontics, for example, the elements of the appliance or brackets are permanently attached to the teeth and to each other and can only be manipulated by a professional orthodontist, while the so-called removable orthodontics can be easily removed by the patient himself and are used in many cases to alleviate moderate anomalies, unless we are talking about innovations such as Invisalign, whose high effectiveness allows its use in more complex diagnoses. TYPES OF ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCES
Fixed orthodontics
- Visible orthodontics with brackets: corrects the position of the teeth through orthodontic brackets visible on the outside of the teeth, are ceramic or sapphire and are recommended for treatment in children and young people. Those who refuse to use them usually do so for esthetic reasons, which is why, in addition to esthetic or transparent brackets, arches or white wires that are practically imperceptible are currently used. The use of this type of orthodontics and its price make it the most widespread, especially among young people, as it is highly effective, precise, very resistant and economical, and therefore guarantees the expected results with precision.
- Lingual invisible orthodontics: corrects the position of the teeth with a fixed appliance placed behind and attached to the lingual side of the teeth, so that it is invisible to the naked eye. It involves the discomfort of a fixed appliance during the first few days, but it is not visible, making it an ideal option for adults.
